Érdekes 1848-as dokumentum: 1851 Csiky Sándor (1805-1892) nemzetőrparancsnok, politikus, egri polgármester, akit 1848-as tevékenysége miatt halálra ítéltek, majd az ítéletet várfogságra változtatták. Az ő részére, fogva tartása helyére a Pesti Újépületbe - ahol Batthyányt kivégezték - írott levél fiától Csiky Gyulától, melyben beszámol birtokaik állapotáról, a tömlöcbe kért és elküldött dolgokról valamint reményét fejezi ki,hogy mihamarabb hazatérhet Csiky a szenvedő hazába.
