1708. okt. 5. Nagykároly Vásárosnaményi báró Eötvös Miklós (1716. ? 1783.) Szatmár vármegye alispánja, császári és királyi tábornok, az Eötvös család sarja. levele ismeretlen címzettnek, amelyben arról tudósít, hogy nemsokára Nagykárolyba érkezik a felséges fejedelem, II. Rákóczi Ferenc.
Eötvös Miklós volt Szatmár vármegye szolgabírája 1696-ban, dikátora 1699-ben, és a Rákóczi-szabadságharc alatt a vármegye kerületi főbiztosa.
