A művész alkotását későbbi utánöntéseknél, reagálva az alkotást ért kritikákra, miszerint Michelangelora hasonlít, illetve túl erotikus, falevéllel eltakarva öntötték, talapzatán pedig a "Michel Angelo" felirat szerepel. In later castings of the artist's work's responding to criticism that it resembled Michelangelo and was overly erotic - it was produced with a fig leaf covering, and the base bears the inscription "Michel Angelo".
