cca 1914-1915 Egon Lerch (1886-1915) sorhajóhadnagy, az Osztrák-Magyar Cs. és Kir. Haditengerészet (K. u. k. Kriegsmarine) tisztje. 1914. augusztusától az U-12 tengeralattjáró parancsnoki tisztségét látta el, egészen haláláig. Harci cselekményben először 1914. decemberében volt része; ugyanebben a hónapban sikeres torpedótámadást hajtott végre a francia Jean Bart csatahajó ellen. 1915. augusztus 8-án tengeralattjárója Velence közelében aknára futott, aminek következtében a hajó a teljes legénységgel együtt odaveszett. As its commander, he first saw combat in December 1914; in the same month, he performed a successful torpedo strike against the French battleship Jean Bart.
