Pietsch, Deutschmeister-, Witwen- und Waisen-Stiftung (Aktion im Felde) Rudolf Kristen egy kevéssé ismert osztrák karikaturista volt, aki elsősorban az első világháború idején készült rajzaival hívta fel magára a figyelmet, és akinek humoros képei egyszerre borzongatnak és nevettetnek a front mindennapjairól. Kristen 1889-ben született Bécsben, tanári diplomát szerzett, és már a háború előtt is készített rajzokat, de világháborús alkotásai főként tábori levelezőlapokon jelentek meg 1917?1918 között. Több mint száz rajzos tábori levelezőlapja ismert, amelyek egyszerű vonalrajzokkal a lövészárokélet, a fronthétköznapok és a katonák mindennapjainak humoros-kritikus ábrázolását mutatják be. A grafikák jelentősen eltérnek a korabeli hivatalos propagandarajzoktól azzal, hogy nem gúnyolják alá az ellenséget, hanem gyakran a saját sorsukon és a háború abszurditásán ironizálnak.
