Marcello Venuti (1700-1755): Ausführliche beschreibun samt hinlanglicher Nachrich von Heracleja oder Hercules-stadt. Frankfurt-Leipzig, 1750, Johann Paul Krauss, 2+8+186 p. Korabeli pergamenkötésben, német és latin nyelven, kissé foltos borítóval, az elülső kötéstábla belsején viaszpecséttel, a hátsó kötéstábla belsején és védőlapon bejegyzéssel, a címlapon intézményi bélyegzővel, 2-15 oldalak között a lapok sorrendjét felcserélték, de nem hiányos, de ezeket leszámítva jó állapotban. Az ókori Herculaneum, amelyet a Vezúv Pompei-el együtt i. e. 79-ben elpusztított, feltárása nem sokkal korábban, 1738-ban kezdődött el. Már akkor felfokozott érdeklődés mutatkozott ezek iránt.
