A budai várban, a Szentháromság utca 7. számú házban 1827-ben kezdte meg működését a Ruszwurm cukrászda elődje Schwabl Ferenc cukrász vezetésével. 1884-ben az addig segédként dolgozó, s a családba beházasodó Ruszwurm Vilmos vette át a cukrászda vezetését, amelynek egészen 1922-ig állt az élén.

A Ruszwurm Cukrászda belső tere klasszikus, 19. századi polgári hangulatot áraszt, sötét fabútorokkal és patinás vitrinek­kel. Az időtlen berendezés és a meghitt, nosztalgikus atmoszféra hűen tükrözi Budapest egyik legrégebbi cukrászdájának történelmi múltját.

A képeslapon a cukrászda 1924-es formája látható: az ablakot és a bejáratot a maitól eltérően egy előtérré, kirakattá alakították, üvegszekrényében cukorkakínálók és asztaldíszek gyűjteménye kapott helyett. A képeslapra írt üzenet angol nyelvű szövegében a következő olvasható: "Ez az a picike Viktória előtti időből származó hely, ahol kávét ittunk."

A bejárat előtt maga Ruszwurm Vilmos balról a második alak, sapkában, jellegzetes módon, hátratett kézzel áll. A fotólap 1924-ben készült, tehát az idős Ruszwurm ekkor már két éve hivatalosan visszavonult, a vezetést társára Tóth Ferencre bízva, aki a patinás hely iránti tiszteletből a nevet változatlanul hagyta.

A cukrászdát 2025-ben határozatlan időre bezárták.

In the Buda Castle, at Szentháromság Street 7, the Ruszwurm Confectionery began operating in 1827 under the leadership of its predecessor, confectioner Ferenc Schwabl. In 1884, Vilmos Ruszwurm, who had previously worked as an assistant and married into the family, took over the management of the confectionery, which he headed until 1922.

The interior of the Ruszwurm Confectionery exudes a classic, 19th-century bourgeois atmosphere, with dark wooden furniture and patinated display cases. The timeless furnishings and the intimate, nostalgic atmosphere faithfully reflect the historical past of one of the oldest confectioneries in Budapest.

The postcard shows the confectionery in its 1924 form: unlike today, the window and entrance were transformed into a foyer, a shop window, and its glass cabinet was replaced by a collection of candy stands and table decorations. The message on the postcard reads in English: "This is the little pre-Victorian place where we drank coffee."

In front of the entrance, Vilmos Ruszwurm himself is the second figure from the left, wearing a cap, standing in a characteristic manner, with his hands behind his back. The photo was taken in 1924, so the elderly Ruszwurm had officially retired two years ago by then, leaving the management to his partner Ferenc Tóth, who left the name unchanged out of respect for the patinated place.

The pastry shop closed indefinitely in 2025.
