Az osztrák-magyar haditengerészet S.M. U-IV tengeralattjárója a Kotori-öbölben (Bocche di Cattaro). A fénykép egy közeli felvétel a tengeralattjáró irányítótornyának jobb oldaláról; jól látható rajta a tengeralattjáró foltos álcafestése, valamint egyik 12 fontos (37 mm-es, 33-as kaliberű) ágyúja az irányítótorony elülső szélén. A kép egy időben készült azzal, amelyet Baumgartner és Sieche reprodukált ,,Die Schiffe der k.(u.)k. Kriegsmarine im Bild" c. művében (2. kötet, 202. old.) 13x9 cm / Black-and-white photograph ((horizontal) of S.M. U-IV, taken at the same time as the one reproduced by Baumgarnter and Sieche in Die Schiffe der k.(u.)k. Krigsmarine im Bild, Vol. 2, 1896-1918, page 202. The same sailors are present and the location is the same (most likely the Bocche di Cattaro). The photograph is a close-up of the submarine's conning tower seen from the starboard side and showing the U-boat's mottled camouflage scheme; a 12-pounder (37 mm, cal. 33) gun is on the conning tower's forward edge. The distinctive bull's eye of reinforced glass at the end of the eyeslot is clearly visible, as is the number 4. This photograph was taken at the same time as the one reproduced by Baumgartner and Sieche in Die Schiffe der k.(u.)k. Kriegsmarine im Bild, Vol. 2, p. 202. 13x9 cm
